History
Formed in 2007 as a charitable version of a Real Estate Investment Trust known as a REMIC, Flying Crown undertook projects no other group wanted to tackle. The organization quickly grew to having over a half million square feet of mixed-use aviation space across the country. After filing a Securities and Exchange Commission Form 11 indicating the intent to offer mortgage backed securities to fund improvements on aging aviation assets, the economic crisis hit. The organization abandoned the intent to offer securities to fund improvements and the board of directors elected to convert the organization to a social enterprise charitable entity. The conversion was completed in 2013 and Flying Crown Land Group is positioned to develop and preserve aviation property nationwide. |
Charitable Status
Flying Crown Land Group is a Delaware Nonprofit corporation and is authorized to conduct business in numerous other states. Charitable status was officially granted by the Internal Revenue Service in February 2013 after a rigorous review process.
